Below is a deed sworn in St. Joe, Texas by Lewis Shipp Farrar dated December 10th, 1882 and filed in Montague, Montague County, Texas .  The parcel was his 1/2 interest in 146 acres and the location appears to be 12 miles East from the town of Montague on Berk Branch & tributary of Elm Creek and was in the SW portion of the original "Miller Survey".

In this deed, Lewis S. Farrar declares that the "original deed" was issued to L.S. Farrar and C.C. Holmes in 1878 by John Aldridge and Joe Aldridge and cannot be found or has been mislaid.

Note:  My copying the deed took up portions of 2 pages in the County Deed Records.  The third page is a result of insufficient space on the copier.  The notes on the margin are the references to microfilm reels of "Montague County Texas Records" and are available in the North Texas State University Library in Denton, Texas)
